Thanksgiving Moments

well, thanksgiving has come and gone. this year was the first to be without family and to cook the meal myself (with help of course). my roommate amy and her friend aaron and i cooked the entire thing ouselves. and we had entirely too much food. but boy was it good. we watched the macy's thanksgiving day parade, and for the first time i watched the whole thing. my friend liz was there, live and in person, but we never saw her. i guess with over 2 million people there, seeing her was not really a possibility. but it was fun to watch anyway. well, not much else to say-other than i'm broke and it's the holiday season. so if you are a friend of mine, or a family member reading this, once again there will not be any huge gifts from your friend/sister/daughter/grandaughter/cousin this year. sorry:(

Good Ole' Training

so i went to a work training today. we have to do this every year, and every year i think that this will be my last one. you see, i'm trying to get my teaching certificate in elementary education, but it's just taking a while. i graduated 3.5 years ago but not in education. i'm working with kids in a before and after school program but i'm really ready to have them during the day. anyway, these trainings are long, but not too bad. i just hated to get up at 6:30am on a saturday, when i usually rise around 12 or so. oh well....
so my friend liz and i were all gung-ho (never spelled that out before) about making a budget last night. we are both spending way more money than we should and thought it would be a good idea to be smarter on what and how much we spend. unfortunatly we (or should i say i) wasn't really in the mood to think about money...instead we watched three quality friday night television 'dramas'. we sadly found out why they are airing on friday nights.
