but i can't...i have to keep my feet on the ground

here i am...28 and living in nashville, tn. i have a great family that is rather spread apart. my dad is a professor and lives in texas. my mom is a kindergarten teacher in indonesia...that's right, indonesia. my big sister is in her 3rd year of law school and lives in vermont. my little sister just finished school at the aveda institute and lives in canada. even though we are seperated by lots and lots of states and oceans and countries, we are still very close and i love them all dearly.

Christmas time is here at last!

so it's finally time to hang the lights, put up the tree and hope for snow. that's right, it's Christmas time! this has to be one of my favorite times of the year. I mean fall is fantastic, but there is something about the Christmas season that is so fun. it also brings family visits-my mom is coming in from Indonesia next monday and I can't wait! she will be here and then my sister from Vermont will be here and we will drive to Texas so see my other sister (and her new boyfriend). then i will get to see my dad and the extended fam on both sides. i just love visiting!

so there is a new development in the williams household (that's right, my roommate's last name is williams also). my dog jake has been eating my roommate's cat's (annie) litter. it's really becoming a disgusting habit. his mouth stinks and he is always thirsty-the latter i'm guessing because litter has the job of absorbing liquid. hopefully i can stop this new habit...one can only hope. so if there are any good suggestions out there i am all ears!

there is also a sad cloud that is looming in my horizon...my good friend liz is leaving for Korea in about 2 weeks. she will be there for a year. i'm so excited about this opportunity for her, but i'm going to miss her so much. i just don't know what i'm going to do without her. she has become such a close friend. so liz, if you are out there, i hope you know how much i love you and will miss you. (tear, whimper, sniff)

anyway, i hope that everyone has a fabulous Christmas and a happy New Year!!!
